Special Election

A special election is being held to fill the vacant Communications & Outreach Chair position on the LBGT PA Caucus Student Board.

Interested candidates must submit all application materials by 11:59 PM ET on June 20, 2026.

Position Description: The Communications & Outreach Chair serves as a voting member of the Student Board and helps support communications, outreach, and engagement initiatives for student members of the Caucus.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited PA program in good standing at the time of the application deadline (PAs completing postgraduate training programs are not considered students for the purposes of the Student Board and are ineligible to apply).
  • Student member in good standing of the LBGT PA Caucus
  • Commitment to advancing health equity for the LGBTQIA+ community 
  • Ability to attend > 50% of Student Board meetings (standing meetings held every two months via Zoom; additional meetings may be called as needed to discuss upcoming events, projects, etc.)
  • Commitment to serve on the Student Board for the entire year, running from July 2026–June 2027


ELECTION TIMELINE

Friday, June 12: Submissions open

Saturday, June 20: Deadline for all materials by 11:59 PM ET

Sunday, June 21: Candidate slate and bios announced

June 21–28: Voting period, closes at 11:59 PM ET on June 28

June 29–30: Candidates will be notified pending election results

July 1: Term begins


Election results will be announced once eligibility of all voters has been verified and the votes are tallied.


VOTER ELIGIBILITY

Per the LBGT PA Caucus Bylaws: "For all elected positions, eligible voters must be current members in good standing as of the date that is fifteen (15) days before the respective election." Therefore, eligible voters are those whose membership was active as of June 6, 2026.

The following membership categories are eligible to vote:

  • Fellow members
  • Student members
  • Emeritus (Retired) members
  • Household members (one vote per household)
